First milestone achieved!! Seedlings grew from my vegetable and herb garden mostly in clay pots.
With the zero knowledge of gardening beside a bachelors with a Botany major giving me basic sense of understanding plants, I ventured into growing a home vegetable and herb potted garden. Was pretty lost in the beginning, neverthelss gardening is all about growing, so it is good to grow as a gardener with plants together. Taking help from Sanaa Zubairi and Zahra Ali Husain of Crops in Pots my two gardening fairies, and couple of books on my Kindle about growing vegetable and herbs in pots and frequent visits to Pakistan Gerdening Forum, I sowed any all seeds that I can lay hands on and can be sowed in late summer and early fall thinking at least some will grow. My plot was one odd kiari along with boundary wall of my house and a fair sized patio inside. I never realized that I have all these space. So in 20 days time, to my amazement, I was using home grown basil, curry leaves and oregano for all my cooking needs. Many seedlings and tiny little adorable plants sprouted from the many tomatoes, brinjal, chillies peppers, capsicum salad, beans like snow peas and same phalli, the many specie of squashes like zucchini, karela, and yellow squash seeds beside a range of herbs.
Seeing these growing every morning is the most pleasurable experience. I will be back with more images when they fruit and grow bigger and better.
