When I was in my teens the Kaghan velly was also like it, now it has been developed (destroyed by human interference). The Meadows have been replaced with vegetable fields.
Such dream lands are now only a dream as I am advised not to go above 5000 feet (Heart).
My advice to young ones SEE AS MUCH OF THE WORLD AS YOU CAN (starting from your own country which is as beautiful as any in the world and has a variety of land scape seen in very few) I know it having seen the both.

Nice old memories.
You are right that these places are polluted by humans. Kaghan, Naran and Saif ul Malook Lake are 2nd victim of human pollution after Murree because they become easily accessible. The places which are not easily accessible are still considered safe from this pollution especially where the trekking is involve.

Extra load For physical fitness. I was fond of this .22 which is still with me.The trip from Naran to Babusar and back was on foot (for security).
