I don’t mind trying fox tree and it is indeed a beautiful palm but it’s more like a big one it suits in big Lawns/gardens but as far as Golden in concerned it’s a manageable size also suite bale for indoors and outdoors at the same time and I like the way it produce multi STEMS from the same plant , but I will try it once more and this time I will also try fox tail I have seen couple of them in Rawalpindi so I can anticipate that I will manage but still cant say anthing without giving it a go coz Umar already had.

since everyone is a palm lover here I planted some Washingtonians last month and it has started to get pretty cold at night in Lahore, advice if I should cover these with plastic or just let them be in the cold ??

Ahmad no need of plastic.its very hard palm,i have even seen this palm at Swat.its also very fast growing palm.there are two typeas of Washingtonia.if your Washingtonia has threads on leaves then its Filifera,an extremly cold resistant palm.
the is the Wanigtonia Mexican fan palm, less cold hardy.

A very nice topic to start. Palms are so beautiful and give such a tropical look. I have the cycads Sago palms, golden palms, the palm pictured in the post above and a couple of more types. I would love to have the bismarkia and many other types but that has to wait since they need room and my yard is almost choked now.......

It looks great. It can form a wonderful hedge for privacy.

I don't think the golden palm will appreciate the intense sunlight in summer months so might be better in part shade??? Anyone?

I think youre right Khan bhai, but it depends on where you live. I live in Lahore so I have to cover some of them with shade cloth because their leaves get burned.
