Why not? Since the weather is quite hot these days, buy a healthy and relatively mature plant from a nursery. A spray of pesticides/ fungicide may burn the leaves on hot days.

Shalimar sells very healthy plants.

just chk or ask if its grafted one bcause they are more resistant on disease

a) Would it be good practice to use fungicide once a month as a "preventive measure"?
b) If (a) is no, then please suggest when to use fungicide to prevent onset of disease (e.g. when adding compost/manure khad OR when transplanting from smaller to larger pot or in the ground) ?

We have lots of citrus plants.....planted here and there in Risalpur. They seem to be doing quite well without absolutely no care(fertilization or fungicide)....i assume that the key is too keep them dry, very dry. Infact they are extremely drought tolerant.

Actually spraying unnecessarily will create resistance among the pests (fungi/ insects etc.) to the pesticides. And, eventually who is harmed by spraying? Humans, because they pesticides have a lifetime to "decay" into less harmful materials and in the meanwhile you will be using those fruits. That's why I am personally against pesticides. Use them only when needed.

We had lemons and we never had any problem except the leaf miner. Leaf miner is a nuisance and since it protects itself by living inside the leaves, there is no simple household cure except a spray. I don't recall having fungal problems. Keep an eye on the young leaves, if they are distorted, or look curls, spray with a general purpose pesticide.

Well rotten manure shouldn't be a cause of diseases.
