Hello everyone, it's been a while. Hope you are all keeping well?
My mango tree flowered beautifully and now I have small mango fruits but they are all dropping. What can I do? What causes it? Thanks

Re: Mango tree
A very warm welcome and good to have you back
Fruit dropping has several reasons. But to start with its normal for a mango tree to drop some fruits if the fruit quantity is more. Is your tree overloaded with fruits? In that case Tree is unable to support so many fruits. Most mango varieties retain only 20 % fruits.
Secondly are you feeding any fertilizer?
Other reasons include mango seed weevil and Fungal diseases.
Anyhow how about breaking some green fruits and making a prickle

Re: Mango tree
Thanks Farhan. Yes, the tree was full of fruit and now I am hoping, as you said, that 20% of them will reach maturity. I did fertilize the try but I think I did it a little too late.
The tree may have some disease as the tip of the leaves are brown. Would you happen to know why and how to remedy that?
Have been picking up the fallen fruits and will be making pickles. Want some?

Re: Mango tree
Aoa Johara i think this winter the weather at Karachi was cool as compared to previous years.this is because of dropping temps.Don,t worry its normal.the tree will gain fresh growth in the summer.Did you people received some fog last winter (sign of dropping temps).Don,t spray any thing.
Re: Mango tree
Thank you Umar Khan, will not spray anything and will wait with anticipation for the first ripe mago. The tree was planted from a seed of a mango I ate five years ago. Can't even remember what kind it was.
