Hello,

I am from Lahore and very disturbed on the current heatwave across the country. It is also concerning that how fast climate is changing. I think it's our responsibility to start planting more and more trees and greenery at individual level at least.

I want to know what are the best options for Lahore's environment and given current months (or even if you can help with multiple options for the coming months too).

Help needed for the trees that:
1- Grow fast
2- Give good Shades
3- Generate good amount of oxygen
4- Easy to maintain, as I plan to plant many trees in various areas and on roadsides

Fast growing Large tree, best is Jamani (not Jaman).
Fast growing small tree Dhrake, dense shade and lovely fragrance when in bloom.

Why the shade trees, who sits under the trees especially in cities these days. I will recommend go for ornamental flowering trees like Kachnar, Cassias and so on.
Every thing you plant requires after care. Every goat keeper and almost all having sacrificial animals consider it their right to use them to feed their animals.
I have not been able to protect them even across the road of my house.

We have alastonia planted outside our home in Jhelum. My father painstakingly protected them from cows and goats. Now they are tall trees which provide shade to people.
