These plants are not suitable for our climate, Wisteria can be grown and blooms well.. but it is not available easily... Cypress vine is very common and easily grown too, may be seed bank has its seeds..

It's quite natural that newbies or beginners to gardening literally want to grow any they come across. As years roll by, one becomes more selective. Now i have become more choosy about the plants that merit a place in my garden based on survival of the fittest.

Grafted Wisteria's are preferable as they tend to flower within 2-3 years and not many would be aware that Wisteria sinensis (as displayed in Brig Sahib's garden) propagated through layering also tend to flower within 2-3 years.

I do not want to dissuade you from trying Wisteria. Personally I like wisteria for their display & fragrance. So much that I ended up acquiring 4 Japanese Wisteria and 2 Chinese Wisteria.

My comment was more in general about the evolutionary process through stages experienced by a gardener and aimed at 'bleeding heart vine' which isnt suitable ideally for Pakistan.

Selection of a plant should be based upon space in the garden & adaptability to our climate. Also other factors come into play e.g. a wisteria vine doesn't thrive in a pot and requires an open space having atleast 5 hours of sunshine.
