This season I tried two different varieties of Kalgha (F1) but the results are not that good. Some died at an early stage and some even after growing and showing flower died. The nursery guy told me that too much water is harmful so I was careful about it. Another thing I noticed is the insect attack on Kalgha despite the pesticide I have used.
Any tips or tricks on how to grow Kalgha are welcome.

Yes watering is an issue.. it promotes soil borne fungus.. cockscomb thrives in soil on dryer side.. did you noticed holes in the leaves?? or it was other bugs?..

Thank you for the response. There are wholes in the leaves, I thought its because of some insect. I observed the same thing with Celosia planted at a friend's place.

For this you need to spray pesticide by evening and on the soil around the plant as well... coopex powder can also be used.. this damage is done by a nocturnal beetle..
