Vegetables In Container

Post by Fastian »

I've a cement container: length 1 meter, width & height about half meter. I have re-potted tomato plants into it and have grown cucumber and bitter melon in it through seeds.
Plz tell me should I still re pot newly grown cucumber and bitter lemon plants because they were grown directly from seeds. Also plz tell me how much plants of each type should I grow in this container and how frequently should I fertilize them?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum
In my opinion the said size of container will suffice for upto five tomato plants.
Cucumber is a vine. I think its better that you let the seedling stay where they are.....i don't understand what you mean by bitter melon?
Initially i would advice adding cow manure only.
Ensure that the container has good drainage

From bitter melon you meant Karela?

You container will support only tomato plants... as Farhan said, 5 is the maximum number of tomato plants, transplant the other seedling taking care that each seedling has 1 sq.ft area to grow... these vine seedlings are best grown directly in the are you want them to grow.... add lots of well rotted and odorless cow manure for a healthy crop.. here is a topic for growing tomatoes
