Michelia champaca

Post by M Farooq »

Asa all,

Does anyone have suggestions growing Michelia champaca from seeds. I had purchased seeds from Banana seeds Inc (USA) but not even a single seed germinated :-( after six month of waiting. Has anyone had success with those seeds ?

I am looking for the orange variety and kewra. No success in finding kewra plant either.

Regards,

Farooq

Warmth humidity and patience they all are required. If they are all there and seed do not germinate, then most probably seed is not good. But i have not grown magnolia from seed just because it is a slow growing species and takes too much time.

Six months is lot of time for magnolia, you should ask them for a refund.
