Strelitzia reginae Birds of Paradise

So many plants that survive Lahore,s winter but can not survive at Islamabad.there is slight difference in both temps.

I have been growing Strelitzia Reginae both dwarf and the regular one in Rawalpindi for more thn 5 years now. Dwarf one produces a bloom every spring, regular tall one in Late oct/ nov. They are both planted in pots and are kept in shade in winters and semi shade in summers. Anybody experimenting with the white/blue bird of paradise (tree) in Pakistan ?

That is amazing ! Izhar Bhai any idea how to propagate it ? does it produce seeds ? or baby plants around the mother plant ? how long would it take to bloom from seeds.
Also kindly tel if there is any common local name for the bird of paradise tree.

through off-sets.. but blooms are not that beautiful... it is grown for its big foliage..

They are easily available almost in every nursery but don,t purchase now.Traverller palm can not ressist to cold.the freezing temps will kill it.its good to purchase in mid Feb.its common name in nurseries is Kela palm.its grown for its fan like effect.
