Dying china palm

Post by Alam64 »

Since it had been more than ten years since the last time the plants were repotted i decided to get them done this season. During this exercise soil was mixed with gobar ki khad and some sand. Exercise seems to have been success as all the plants seem to be rejuvanated. All the china palms have suffered the same fate. Their leaves drooped and seem to have died as they are dry and brittle. Not sure if the plant itself is dead. Shouldnt china palms be repotted or is their special requirements for this plant

Basically the mali took out the plant cut the roots added gobar ki khad and put it back. Is this the correct procedure or this caused air pockets

Gobar khaad rotted the roots... only fresh bhal should have been used

That leads to the question while repotting we should avoid gobar ki khad

While harping on the same theme, i read somewhere on this forum or maybe saw on the youtube that the potting mix should also have gobar ki khad. With that in mind i got the plants repotted with gobar ki khad. However i lost two plants because gobar ki khad damaged the roots. So which advice is correct ‘potting mix with gobar ki khad’ or ‘without gobar ki khad’

for annuals and herbaceous plants.. mix with gobar i khaad is okay... for old plants with lots of roots, use bhal only
