Hi,

I sowed the seeds of Echinacea purpurea White swan in november last year and it flowered in June then again few days back. The main attraction of this plant was the drooping petals to me. But my flowers, though fragrant, do not have drooping petals. I thought maybe when the flowers gets little old then petals will droop but that is not happening either. Here is my picture below

I was expecting drooping like this, below picture taken from internet file photo:

Did i miss something?

It is my dream flower too. Were your echinacea had bent petals? I remember izhar had posted some pictures and they were also not that bent.

Well this is the thread where izhar posted his echinacea but they are not bent viewtopic.php?f=2&t=324&hilit=echinacea Not sure it was the bent variety or not. Worst scenario would be "They do not get bent in hot climates".

I guess the plant should aged... the blooms which show drooping petals are on aged plants... IMHO
