retaining moisture

salam,
could a plastic sheet be covered on the soil of a rose pot to help retain moisture???
a good fungicide for roses which is easily available in karachi?? (currently suffering from black spot)

Yes it can be used to reduce the water loss through evaporation... fungicides are easily available in the gardening store at old sabzi mandi and empress market..

I think using plastic will encourage disease in roses especially fungus types. I would suggest use compost generously in the soil mix even upto third or half of soil. In addition use 2-3 inches of mulch. Use Bayer's Alleitte an awesome anti-fungal to drench the rose then spray possibly weekly or every two weeks on the leaves if weather is humid.
