Anyone growing garlic vine in lahore?

I got a few plants from karachi. Planted one in soil bed and one in pot. None of them grew very well. Is some one growing Cydista aequinoctialis, Garlic Vine in lahore. If yes then what growing conditions it likes? It grows very good in karachi so why not lahore?

I guess I have seen it somewhere in Islamabad. Btw why is it called garlic vine ? does it smell like garlic ?

Yes it produce a faint garlic smell, when the leaves are crushed it emits intense smell .
