i have heard figaro dahlias produces rhizome which can be planted next year as well, is it correct ?

Yes they produce tubers just like their Dinner plates cousins.they flower early from tubers.

Do i need to put them in big pots for better rhizome development , presently they are in 5 inch pot.

No, just keep them in these pots till they re-sprout in October-November then you can put them in larger pots..

one i have red skin,figaro & cinderela,i used to leave their tubers in soil.they used to sprout again in august & flower again in spring.the annual dahlias are really good for warmer areas.but i uprooted because i like the dinner plates.its a matter of taste.i love big huge flowers.i mean it does not mean annual dahlias are not good.also try diabloo dahlia.

these are just amazing. So would you rather plant dahlias in pots to be able to use them again next year or in the ground? What's the best way to preserve them over the summer in pots?
