Bananas can be propagated by division. Propagation of bananas through division involves separating the pup from the mother plant. The pups (or offshoots) are the next generation of bananas that will replace the existing banana plant once it fruits and dies. Therefore it is necessary to leave a few pups and not harvest them all from the mother.
This time I can help you because Banana plants are very common in my area.

do pups have roots when you separate them? What is the best time for doing so?

Also are such bananas good to eat?

In our area we can separate pups from plant at any time of the year.
Yes this variety is very tasty and famous all our the world because of its taste.

this is one of the most tasty bannana cultiver! extremly popular for its prime taste!
