AoA. My love for plants, flowers and gardening started only in Jan this year, Thanks to Gardening Pakistan. This happened when I moved to Rawalpindi and got house with small area to be used for lawn and plants. Incidentally I got the same house where I had already lived from 2007- 2009. At that time I planted few fruit trees in the house which were to give fruit after 2-3 years . At that time I never thought I will ever be able to enjoy eating their fruit… But this year, I have already enjoyed lokat and apples should be ready within a month. Mango and Guava trees were already there. It gave me so much pleasure that today I am eating fruit of trees which I sowed with my own hands…
Coming back to the topic… I will be sharing my small successes towards setting up my garden (which should be a long journey, I guess, keeping in view me little knowledge about the gardening) This house had nothing similar to called plants and flowers. I had to do it all afresh.
After cleaning this is how it looked like – Fig 1 (Jan 13):
Preparation of Lawn
1, As per guidance on this forum I started with removing the 1 to 1.5 feet of sand to avoid weeds (fig 2)
2. Then filled the lawn with new bhal of swan river .. (fig 3)
3. Sowed the fine Dhaka grass

Please allow me to share the joy that I get when I see these beautiful flowers sowed with my own hands.. Flowers from hereon are all sowed from seeds ..Never ever felt the extreme pride and joy what I got when I saw-throw seeds sprouting in seedlings, then growing up and then flowering ...UN-parallel joy..
