suggections for a beginner in shaping lawn
aoa friends
i am just a starter in the field
recently got a flat with a front lawn and was excited to shape it into something
started with hiring a mali and followed all he had said ,at the same time he would not take my suggestions at all
anyways patiently waiting for few months to see what becomes of it and at the end it was a disappointment ...more than half of the lawn was filled with wild grass and growth
ultimately i told mr.mali to dig everything out of the lawn even the good side and now its as plain and ugly as the day 1
i am all set to start afresh
so need ur suggestions plz

Re: suggections for a beginner in shaping lawn
The size of the lawn?
How much sun it gets?
The quality of soil?
Availability of water?
Information required before any suggestion.

Sounds like a confidence trickster or a half baked "mali"
Post up some pics if you can of the site and we can take it from there, don't be too disheartened as there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

sir
size: 50'*50' approx
its south facing and gets sunlight whole day summer n winter both no obstruction around
soil is not of good quality mixed with lot of pebbles and building materials waste that is generally thrown during construction( to mention its in front of a newly contructed flat) , i am thinking to get a tractor trolley of white sand (bhal) laid on top
water is adequately available not a problem in that
i will post a picture soon as well...

Your soil appears whitish at places, sign of salinity or rubble. Clean up and add a trolley of good soil. Flood your lawn on regular intervals to do away with as much salt as possible

So you are a soldier a mid rank officer, living in recently constructed flats. The area between the road and building is in want of development from the scratch.
Out of nine only two or three may be interested in improving the outlook of their temporary abode. How long can you expect to stay?
Forget the above.
A good foundation is a must for starting any thing. One to one and a half foot of this debris should be replaced by field soil of Mianwali. After that you will have no problem in growing what ever you want.

Agreed it looks like you will have to remove the builders debris contaminated soil and then start afresh. Good luck
