Asim , the fruit fly control is basically an area control.
Fruit fly is like tiny wasp it also stings. It has wasp like nests on under side of leaves, their range is very wide, Spraying is not effective, the recommended control is by putting a Harmon in a trap which attracts the male population. So by killing the males you aim at reducing their population but it has to be don as a collective effort by all fruit growers.
Word COLLECTIVE in our country means Failure. But for a hobby grower like you the remedy is simple.
Fruit fly attacks only maturing fruit and Guava fruits are at the tip of the fresh growth so put a polythene bag on very unripe fruit and cut the fruiting branch when ripe. Cutting of branch is recommended as you get flowers on fresh shoots.
