That Arctotis is gorgeous. With all those beautiful Mesembry pics that you & other members have posted,I have decided that I will plant lots of Mesembrys next season. Vibrant colors are simply stunning. Is there any summer counterpart of Mesembry with similar colors?

My goodness! They look like each other's cousins! I will try searching for its seed from saddar or if there is next purchase then I would love to order these.

This article says its for 'lazy gardeners'(like me :D), easy to grow in tough soil conditions and doesn't need much watering either.

i was given few seedlings three years back by a Mali. These are from seeds from those plants. If i remember correctly i did send them to seed bank. Anyhow i have lot of seeds for it, you can have it any time. It comes true.
Gerberas were plug plants purchased. In summers when they are down and low, they can be purchased as low as Rs.20 per plant/plug. However during their season, or if the plant is healthy in a pot, nursery man ask absurd prices. I tried it from seed couple of times ( T & M) and none germinated, as some say, Gerbera grows only from fresh seeds, may be that is true.

Storm approaches, thunder roars and high winds lashes out, Steady.....steady.

Winds before rain are less disastrous, but during or after reasonable rain can mean lot of things upside down.

Forecaster are predicting longer period of rains, current spell is expected to last for three days and then again off and on rain spells throughout the Month.

Man makes shelter, where ever possible, but gardener possibly can not, for their is no stopping the forces of nature, when you want to be amongst nature.

Today, insects activity was at its peak, maybe because they could sense that they will not be available with food for few days. So was i, trying to capture pictures for it could not be same after some days :p

IMHO, gardening is not only about flowers, but the smell of earth, rain drops, fears and joy, wild life and weather...and so many other things

for instance of last season, i don't remember vividly each bloom, but i do remember how scared i use to be when it rained...like hell :-)
