Only three of my Hardy Hibiscus survived at Thokar.
My visit this afternoon was rather late for the photographs as the flowers were wilting in heat and full sun, day after I will go in the morning for proper photography.
Look at the buds each plant has.

In my little experience...it could be form of bolting when plant is out of season....to much hot weather has forced plant to flower compromising on growth...natural survival tactic

The growth and flowers are much more than Tropical Hibiscus.
There is no seed formation.
The seeds I planted on 20-5-12 have germinated and are growing very fast; I will have to transfer them to pots in a day or two.
Izhar, how about your plants?

My plants are growing good.. the hand pollinated big pink one has 3 seed pods ripening (will share as soon as they turn brown)... one white with red center is also blooming.. they all are dwarf under 1 foot...

I will have to hand polinate. What is the best time of the day?

I pollinated them early morning between 6:00 to 7:00 am..

The ones at home and in pots all died so the four plants I have are at Thokar, my visit is once a week so I cannot pollinate them that early.
They are all doing well with lots of flowers and buds. The poor Red is suffering the most, it absorbs heat the most so the outer edges of petals dry up and the flower does not get to open. It looks like a big red egg. Soon the problem will be over.

The seedlings were planted in 4inch pots and are ready for change to a bigger pot.

The hardy hibiscus are blooming profusely, the buds of the dark red cannot tolerate the sun/heat the petal margins dry up so they cannot open and remain like a big red egg. I am sure they will pick up during and after the rains.
The plants are about three feet high.







The seedlings are also progressing well.
