Re: Rose Database
Hammad KBW is right temps has great impact on any rose plus the sun light. Nagreette, Black Baccara, Pappa mieland, Black beauty,Oklohoma, Mr Lincolin all are maroon but in cold temps & not in full light length. The color also depends on the amount of fertilizers. All maroons in summer will be true reds. Not only marrons but many other colors like Double delight, Paradise, Freesia depends on the sun light length & fertilizer.Double delight will remain just cream or with very low tented red if its in shade.Petal count also depends on the temps.
KBW i all the three are of same parentage but there is difference in growing habits & to some extent in the color shades. But brother roses is after all a rose what ever the variety. It has been so much hybridised that no other flower has been done that much. You have progrssed so much dear. I really enjoy discussions with you.

Rafiq's Comments
One of well known of David Austins, The Dark Lady. Beautiful dark red(maroon) colored double flower. Flowers have strong fragrance. Bush is not growing vigorously as the others ones(fragrant plum, liv-taylor) are grwoing at nearby locations . Heigt is also less comparitive to others.
As per David Austins documentation, It is small at first but over time becomes quite large, reaching a medium height. Mine is still small after an year.

Re: Rose Database
My rose looks similar to Crimson Glory but I think it is not a climber. Every thing foliage, flower size, petal count, flower shape and foliage color. Very very similar roseMustansir Billah wrote:Please Identify the rose for Database.
Sharp Red color, No fragrance or slightly fragrant, Not very much petal count:-

Re: Rose Database
Crimson Glory was the first true dark red rose bred by Wilhem Kordes Snr in 1935. Rafique you may have taken the pictures in summer because this rose in picture is red not the crimson maroon color.

Crimson Glory

But the entry is of crimson glory climber. There is slight difference in color and number of petals in both. Please check the following link for reference. Color of this climber will be get darker with decrease in temperature but will not match the crimson glory bush. Also the fragrance of climber is less than bush.

Re: Rose Database
I see thats why i was thinking i may be wrong about Crimson Glory. So climber is different than the original bush form.
