Re: Grasses in shade
Bermuda is very nice grass but not fit for shady locations.Korean will tolerate partial shade.one does the spot remains shady even in spring & summer.if not the Bermuda will bounce back in early spring.frankly speaking i do not like Korean.but its matter of taste.it does,t mean Korean is not a good grass.
Bermuda is very sensitive to cold & frost.the grass will turn yellow & finally brown.in JAN if possible feed it with DAP(High % of Phosphors) which promotes roots system & enjoy Lush green Bermuda in early spring.in active growth use Urea(Nitrogen) for healthy foliage.
At Mardan the Bermuda will turn yellow & go into dormancy after 15 Nov.i am very happy to see a member from my native city.wish u good luck.

Re: Grasses in shade
thanx Umer khan...sorry for late responce i was in university
wat if i add urea in winter i heard it improves shoot growth and keep grass green but also unnaturl as dormncy is inhibited,...
yea bermuda is more green but korean bed is thick due to less upward growth as cmpared to bermuda gr....
will korean grow side by side with bermuda grass....if its in shade all time...

Re: Grasses in shade
Well thanks you liked my garden.i have two lawns.one Bermuda & the other Korean.strictly speaking Korean is not lawn turf but ground cover thats why it develop very thick cover which also develop some bumps.secondly its very hard to cut & attracts termites.both are nice grass it depends on personal taste.
Urea is pure Nitrogen which stimulates new growth.discourage fresh growth in winter months as the frost will kill it & damage the grass.let the grass go into dormancy, feed with super phosphates granular if possible.you can get it from Par Hoti ot Baghdada fertilizer market.if you can not find it then purchase DAP granular as it contains Nitrogen but in less % than phosphorus.Phos develop strong root system which leads to lush green growth in spring.when the winter is over & spring arrives start urea with micro nutrients.enjoy your lush green lawn.
