Kaleem wrote:1-Planting season of following bulbs is over, just save these in paper envelopes and plant these in fall. Lycoris lily bulbs may damaged because of late arrival
Lycoris lily
Blood lily
Nerine lily

2-Planting season of following bulbs is still in progress and you can plant these immediately.

Clivia (Keep container under full shade)
Amarylis 2 colors (filter sun, semi shade)

I think you have import these bulbs and Clivia needs extra care in winters otherwise you may kill this one.
Kaleem sb, my lycoris both aurea and radiata are putting fresh growth at the moment and i have placed their containers in part shade where they receive about 5 hours of indirect light..

If these bulbs which are not seeds as seeds can be saved for years and years in an airtight container.. were to be saved in a paper bag they will dry out eventually as summers approach, so it is better to plant them in soil where they can remain cool throughout the summer and don't dry out..

My dear friend Tahir sb. suggestion and information about growing bulb is 100% right but above all I think depends upon climate of your city where these bulb can eaily bloom. I can grow red nerine lily for past 2 years but waiting for bloom. Yestarday I can grow "Football lily". Hope so it will bloom in modereate temperature of Lahore.
Best Regards
Asim
Asim sb, football lily will grow just fine if it is planted away from direct sunlight, very few bulbs like crinum survive direct sunlight even then the leaves get scorched..
give your bulb a free draining soil mix and feed them with small amounts of DAP fertilizer half a teaspoon per container during active growth every 20 days..

switch to potash feed two weeks before flowering and be amazed by the performance of your bulbs. :)

Nature has designed bulbs so they do not require too much feeding. Shade is best for all your bulbs considering the heat in RYK. The lycoris will go dormant and need to be kept mostly dry throughout dormancy. Maybe a little water now and then just so that they don't totally shrivel. Nerine are of different types ie summer growing or winter growing. If you don't know which kind then likely it is winter growing and will go dormant in summer. Some nerines will go totally dormant and lose leaves and some will just stop putting out more leaves. Blood lily and nerine like a rich soil but with the heat at 48 I think just sand, bhal and leaf mold will be best for now. Drainage needs to be excellent and sand will ensure that. In active growth nerines usually like water. Clivias need rich organic soil with excellent drainage. If you can manage peat moss for the clivias then that with perlite or sand will be best. Complete shade for clivias and excellent drainage or they will die promptly. Amaryllis take the heat well but to avoid risking their demise keep them in filtered light till they have a good root system.
