Mine are mixed and I like them that way. Some people like single-color beds or two-color beds. I think as long as the mixed bed looks random, it works fine.

Personally, I have my daylilies in a mixed bed, I think daylilies look a bit more natural that way. Some people like single color beds though.

I have both mixed beds and colour theme beds.
The first one I did is totally mixed but only daylilies.
The next 2 are themed but contain spring bulbs and lilies as well as the daylilies. One is hot-red, orange and yellow. One is cool, pinks through purples with some whites and yellows thrown in for contrast.
I also have a few other smaller mixed beds.

I like bicolors. Sharks' teeth I still haven't really gotten excited about.
Sir as you are re-designing your bed.....the next question that comes into my mind is.....
What should be ideal spacing of the bulbs/Plants.....enough for plant to flourish well and close enough to give a compact & fuller look without any spaces???

I am not touching my Daylilies for another two years.I will be shifting my Pancreatom and Narine/Lycoris in fromt of Daylilies. Re-arrange my roses in december and put Calliandra, Crosendra,Dhatura and other small bushes behind them followed by Amaryllis seedling and Shrubs and trees, along the wall are the vines.
Spacing is according to the plant. My Daylilies were planted 18 inches appart.
I am completely sold to Day Lilies, Now they are on the top of my favourits.
One look at them in the morning keeps my day bright.
