Rafique light prune is alright if you have done it but next year don,t do it.Once in did it in Mid August the bad result that your bushes do not have strong canes in the pruning time to support the heavy spring blooms.
Yes Adnan the space is very wide Mashallah & not easy to care. The night temp has dropped to 25C which is dropping day by day.

Re: Job in the garden
Thank you @Syed Adnan,@Umar and @Farhan for your comments and guidence.
I would like to share my thought for which i lightly pruned.
All bushes were grown well in summer and monsoon. Continuous growth and blooming but bloom were not as good as of fall or spring. I tried my best to remove the buds through out summer and monsoon as early as possible, which resulted good growth of plants. Last week most of bushes were crossing the height of 6 feet and had flowering buds too. These were ready to bloom in next couple of week. To avoid these blooms and to encourge the growth of new shoot i did prun. Hope to reach the temp between 28-32(+-2). in next few weeks which is considered good for plants growth.
In my opinion i will get good blooms in oct-nov and then again in mar-apr, as most of hybrid tea roses bloom every after three to four months?

Re: Job in the garden
Height is immaterial unless you want it for some specific reason. You should try to strengthen the main stem by timely pruning. Roses are ought to be hard pruned. Any progress in height is thereby lost. New growth bears the healthiest blooms.

Agreed with you.Farhan Ahmed wrote:Height is immaterial unless you want it for some specific reason. You should try to strengthen the main stem by timely pruning. Roses are ought to be hard pruned. Any progress in height is thereby lost. New growth bears the healthiest blooms.
But its not the rule of thumb to prune hard every time?
Usually frequent light pruning is recommended during all the grwing cycle of roses. And for better shape and to get good blooms hard pruning once in year like umar bhai.

i was afraid of probability of fungus, plant resilience in hot and humid ie why let the plant to grow freely just removed the buds in those tough months.Farhan Ahmed wrote:Above was as regards to height only

Just experimenting, not know what would be the outcomes?
As most of the grafting of roses is done in these days by nursery men. So i thought this time should be the safe for such activity?

Rafique hard prune is good if you prune once a year.Harder the prune the more blooms you will get from your bushes. As the hight is concerned it depends on the variety. If you prune Dr Lincolin,Papamieland or grandiflowras like Queen Elizabeth, Mari shariver they will flower once they attain their full hight. On the other hand Perfect moment,Fressia, iceberg or Nigrete will never go beyond 3 ft.So it depends on the variety.
The flowering season start just when the night temps begins to drop.Even at the pruning time the bushes are full of blooms but to get quality blooms in the spring we have to prune bushes.
