Re: Summer care for roses
New Rose plants are in shock after transplanting because the some roots were cut when shifting from nursery to home. Any suggestion for the quick recovery?(except pruning)

Prayers!!!
You should have simply broken the pot and re-potted without touching roots. Was the rose plant root bound when you purchased it??? Meaning by the roots were in ground from drain-hole?
Pray Hard.

BTW never be reluctant to prune roses. They are meant to be pruned

Not much shock but leaves tilts in sun and straights up when sun is gone. Roots were cut in nursery when they were in ground through drainage hole. I have read that leaves should be cut and plant should be pruned in this situation and add some sugar to soil? The roots were not damaged while sifting to bigger pot.Farhan Ahmed wrote:Prayers!!!

Re: Summer care for roses
damage appears to be less as they are showing signs only in full sun. Cover with cloth. Full shade until they improve

Mustansir never purchase a plant which roots are in the soil.Wait for the right time & then purchase young bushes. Mustansir always wait for the right time & purchase the healthy stock.Don,t be impressed with the well established plants the nurserymen offer.A gardener has to make right decision on right time.

JazakAllah Umar sb. and Farhan sb. for advice. Umar sb. only one rose roots were in soil and that one chosen by me(Silly me). Although I always purchase young plants. Well they are well established and looks they can overcome disease. The nursery man also told me to plant them in have filled container with 1 part manure and 3 parts soil and after a week or two cover if full with 3 parts manure and 1 part soil.
