I believe this one is 9 inches. Usually they are 7-8 or 8-9. If they are 10 inches then they call them giant.

Suggestion; specialise in Hibiscus, if you bring a few every time, you will have a great collection.

Brig sahib I LOVE hibiscus. I brought 6 more this time from Hidden Valley Hibiscus, I think one will not be able to survive the journey but rest look like they are recovering. I think I like them more than daylilies but less than roses. The best part is if you spray timely and feed correctly and water adequately they should bloom most of the year in Lahore. I have hibiscus plants on buds even right now.

Dr. sb you have lovely banana flowers. Do try to make a sabzi out of it. You will enjoy its unique and slightly bitter taste of this dish.

Re: Summer 2013 story....
No, cooking unripe bananas is a different story. I was suggesting to cook the banana flower. The flowers are cooked like the following recipe (in the link). I have tried 3-4 times (not with this much elegance as stated) but in a similar fashion. Banana flowers are slightly bitter like kerayla and one way to reduce their bitterness is that you finely chop them and sprinkle lots of salt and wash them. But this approach takes away all the mineral richness of the flower.
