Dear Sir Arif here is procedure about rannanculus seeds and croms sowingMuhammad Arif Khan wrote:Muhammad Imran 7, Please give a detailed account of growing Ranunculus from seed, when the seeds were sown and there pictures please.
Also do tell us how you keep your R corms and when and how you plant them (acknowledging my failure in both cases).
I will be obliged.
Arif
seeds sowing
Rannanculus seeds were sown on 1st November. seed sowing media contained 1 part fine old manure and 2 parts plain soil. mix them well and fill the pot and water it. sprinkle seeds on the surface and very gently push them with your finger. then spread the 1 inch layer coco coir and place the pot initially in cool place where it got 1 to 2 hours sunlight afterwards shift it in the green house which i made myself. after a month, here is the progress
croms sowing
croms were sown on 15th of October. prepare soil media with 1 part old manure and 1 part plain soil. mix it well and filled in kayarees and water them well. leave them as it is for 24 hours. next day dig a hole and place the crom in it. it should 1 inch below the surface and fill the hole with peat moss with little soil mix in it. initially placed them in shady area where they got 2 to 3 hours sunlight, in November moved them in fun sun. don't water them until see some germination. after 15 days or so, here is result.
How do i save ranannculus cromes
first i let the follage dry out completely after the flowering (usually end of april or start of may) then dig the surface the pull out the plant alongwith cromes. cut out the plant little above from the crome. wash away all cromes completey and with the help of paint brush, clean any soil or mud on the cromes. let them dry in the shade for 24 hours. after drying, sprinkle anti-fungus powder on them and pack them in A4 envelop and seel. store them in cool and dry place. use them in next year
