I need suggestions for the best Celosia plumosa variety. I also want to know their cultural practice as well, i had a bad experience with them, the plant were very healthy but the blooms were very drab, I want big and colorful plumes... any suggestion is welcomed:
Celosias perfrom well when sown late around june/July...as Umar khan has been preaching. Celosia show their actual color in fall. Don't start in spring rather close to monsoon. Cockscomb shape is better and has a very showy flower instead of spike one. Its all about right temperatures. Normal cultural practices...nothing special except that they will only perform when sown in situ or transplanted very very early
Ok, so it is not depending on the variety rather the sowing time, better to sow in situ by the month of July... however, their cousins Celosia crisata (Cockscomb) grow very well if started nowadays..
