Umar, these portulacas are amazing... you have to save them for next year..

Yes Dr sb its very common on roses in monsoon or when the weather is wet.use fungicides. fungicides only control the fungus or rust but will not end it.also do not use fungicides too much.when you prune your roses in winter then you will get the fresh clean foliage. Dr sb humidity is the main cause.its main reason that Roses are not suitable for sea side areas.in Karachi you can never get the quality u get at Lahore.so don,t worry & keep loving your roses.
Izhar one day i was visiting nurseries & i came across these portulacas.so i purchased, they are more good than the annual types.i think i have 5 colors now in this class.i will send you some cuttings.

I do not grow the annual any more. I am useing it as a ground cover. I am also experimenting with 2-3 inch thick soil beds on paved surface.

Brig sb you are right perennial is good than the annual.the flower ability is also good.but the color range is very limited.is there pure yellow in perennial double.
Khan sb i spray on weekly bases in evening.never spray fungicides in after noons.with scorching sun they can burn the foliage.some times the deformed foliage is also the result of fungicide burn.but we have to take the step in order to save our plants.
